It seems simple enough: Begin by remembering to stop several times each day to practice “Hineni” — to consciously put yourself in the presence of God. When you’re ready, add putting on the armor and a verse of Scripture to the mix. The idea is to Stop and be present … at least a few times each day.
Tough, isn’t it?
Hineni is not just a beginner’s practice. It is a way of life. It is one way (not the only way) of remembering to remember who we are and where we are going.
We will consider all of that soon.
For now, keep working with Hineni.
Start Here and Don’t Leave
Do it daily, and do it often:
- Here I am, Lord, just as I am
- I am present
- I am listening
Hineni.
